Peony

We are going to start sharing the meaning of flowers, otherwise know as Floriography.

Expressions: elegance, romance, honor, prosperity, and bashfulness

History: reported to date back to 1000BC in gardens in China and by the 8th century they reach Japan, where they are now widely produced. They were originally used for medicinal properties to treat headaches, asthma and childbirth related pain.

Season: Late spring and summer

Specs: Can reach 10 inches in diameter. Have a sweet scent.

Colors: Ivory, pink, deep reds, oranges, and even yellows

Fun fact: The Peony is the state flower of Indiana
